How to Choose the Right Prom Dress

As “prom time” approaches, color and style are just as important as they were a century ago. To be striking and show your high tastes, you should pay more attention on your look and manner. Choose the right prom dress is especially crucial.

The following tips may help approach the right choices:

1.Begin your search for your prom dress early.

2.Make sure you don't pick one that everyone else will have; you should be different. Just be yourself.

3.Plan your budget for your prom dress and begin saving as soon as possible.

4.Watch some celebrity red carpet events and take notes on your favorite styles.

5.Try on dresses in a variety of different styles and cuts to find the one that works best for your body.

6.Once you have narrowed your choices to one particular prom dress style, try on that style in a variety of different colors and finishes.

7.Start shopping for shoes and accessories at least 2 months in advance of the Prom or Formal dance.

8.Plan to choose and purchase your prom dress at least four to six weeks before your prom.

9.Make sure that you don't purchase your dress too far in advance, as before big events you can easily loose and gain weight, from stress or anything else.

10.A couple of weeks before your prom, try on your dress with your shoes, jewelry, make-up, and hairstyle to be sure you like the finished look.

11.On the night of your prom, put your dress and a "cover-up" (any clean shirt or jacket) on before applying make-up or styling your hair.

Don't look for a 'prom dress' ....search for dress by color and fit such as 'sheath or cocktail'.
The most interesting Prom Dresses Cheap aren't even 'prom dresses' and the only people upset about that are prom dress business owners.

The trend to move away from strictly prom dresses extends to bridesmaid dresses and the best look is what fits you perfectly and you like the color and drape of the fabric.

I would also consider having something made.
Go into a fabric store and look at patterns for 'special occasion dresses'; a category every pattern company offers.

Then ask the store for seamstresses they can recommend and check out what they can do for you for a similar price to ready-to-wear.
